“Beatrice is a force. There is no other way to describe her and her efforts on my behalf.
From my first contact with Beatrice, it was apparent to me that she is not your ordinary legal placement consultant. In fact, to put her in that category does her a disservice.
Beatrice literally altered my career path, and in a very good way. After more than thirty-five years of practice, I was not sure there were any exciting opportunities left for me. Boy was I wrong.
Once she learned about my practice, my experience, and my desire to build an even more dynamic practice in the years ahead, Beatrice helped me demonstrate to potential firms both the value of my experience and my client base. She found several opportunities for me, but the one with the best cultural fit, geographic reach, and full service practice was Lathrop GPM LLP. A firm I never would have learned about but for Beatrice and API.
Thank you, Beatrice and API. You have my deepest appreciation and unqualified recommendation”

“In my recent lateral move, Beatrice was effective acting as both advocate and counselor. Using her understanding of the legal market, she ensured that I showcased my strengths and knew what to expect. Throughout the process, Beatrice also apprised me of developments and invited questions and feedback.
Beatrice discerns what motivates individuals and teams, which allowed her to match my career vision with the goals of my current group. She understood my focus on culture and practice area growth as well as the importance of alignment between my values, skillset, and experience and the mindset of my new team.
Beatrice has enabled me to step into a career opportunity unlike any other, and I am excited to begin this new chapter. I credit the success of my recent move to her efforts and abilities. For a legal professional interested in a career shift, Beatrice is the right choice”.

“I had the pleasure of working with Beatrice during my recent job search, and I cannot emphasize enough the exceptional level of service and commitment she provided. Beatrice truly went above and beyond to ensure my experience was not only successful but also tailored to my unique needs.
From our initial conversation, it was evident that Beatrice possesses a deep understanding of the legal industry and an extensive network of connections. She took the time to understand my career goals, strengths, and preferences. This personalized approach definitely set Beatrice apart from other recruiters I have worked with in the past.
What impressed me most was Beatrice’s proactive communication and transparency throughout the entire process. She consistently kept me informed about potential opportunities, provided valuable insights into the legal market, and offered constructive feedback to enhance my candidacy. At no point did I feel like I was just a transaction. This level of engagement made me feel supported and confident in my job search.
Beatrice also worked hard to match my skills with the right opportunities. She not only identified positions that aligned with my career objectives but also took the time to ensure that the organizational culture and work environment were a good fit. This attention to detail was instrumental in helping me secure a role that exceeded my expectations. With Beatrice’s support, I will be successfully transitioning into a new role that aligns perfectly with my career aspirations. Her commitment to my success and genuine passion for connecting candidates with the right opportunities have left a lasting impression.
Beatrice is not just a recruiter but rather a trusted advisor who is genuinely invested in the success of those she represents. I wholeheartedly recommend Beatrice to any legal professional seeking a recruiter who goes above and beyond to ensure a positive and successful job search experience.”

“Beatrice-
Where do I begin? You are a true game changer in this industry, and you altered the trajectory of my career. To say that I am grateful for all you have done for me would be an understatement. Words cannot do justice to the time and effort you put into guiding me, advising me and making sure that I found the right platform for my business and my future. I wish I had met you at the start of my career – I would have ended up in my “home” a lot sooner. You made this happen and for that, I am forever indebted.
To anyone who is looking to make a move, and serious about their career and their future, I would tell you not to walk, but to run to Beatrice and API international. Beatrice took an interest in me not only as a professional, but as an individual and that combination (very rare to find until you find Beatrice) is what landed me in my “dream job.” You are committed, loyal and will stop at nothing to ensure that those you represent and work with not only get the deal they want, but the one they deserve.

“My experience working with Beatrice O’Brien was extraordinary in every sense. Unlike many recruiters who focus solely on the placement regardless of whether there is a match between client and opportunity, Beatrice took the time to fully understand my reasons for moving as well as where I would best fit in the next move. As a result, she targeted firms with precision and detail, with the aim to place me in a position where I would want to stay for a long time. She placed my professional interests far ahead of her financial ones, in an effort to make the right fit. And now that we have found a fit, I am certain that it is the right one. I owe that all to her patience, advice and guidance”.

When I spoke to her the very first time, she simply asked me “if you were to move from your current firm, what would it take.” Half skeptical, I listed out what I was looking for in a dream firm. “It is impossible to quantify how invaluable Beatrice O’Brien was in the process that brought me to Anderson Kill. My work is domestic and international, traditional litigation and arbitration, and I am also a CPA who does a lot of work in tax courts. So I knew that it would be a challenging search as I sought to leave my boutique firm for one that had the resources to support my diverse practice, without sacrificing the intimacy I enjoyed for many years at a smaller firm.
It felt as if there was no perfect fit for me. However, Beatrice immediately made me confident that there was indeed a perfect fit for me, and that she would help me find it. She dug into the nuance of the needs I expressed, understanding not just the what but the why, and then skillfully focused the search, tapping into her vast knowledge of the practices of the firms, and perhaps more importantly, their cultures and people.
Beatrice counseled me through every step of the process, offering sage advice as I settled on Anderson and remarkable expertise in negotiating the deal. I feel privileged to have developed an association with Beatrice and API!

“As a native resident and law school graduate of California, my decision to relocate to New York after law school with plans to sit for the New York bar exam and search for a position in the legal world that would jump-start my law career, was an endeavor of which the odds of succeeding with a smooth transition were stacked against me. Consequently, my diligence and research of finding a tailored bar review class that would prepare me appropriately for the New York Bar exam was quite extensive. My needs were very specific- I had to find a course that would allow me to study/prep for the Bar remotely from California, but I still wanted individualized attention in the event I had any substantive or procedural questions or concerns. I spoke with several different representatives for varying bar review classes in NY, but none of them came close to suiting my customized interests until I spoke with Beatrice O’Brien of New York Bar Review.
During our initial conversation, Beatrice took the time to listen to all of my individualized needs and gave me ideas of how we could tailor the program accordingly. After much thought, Beatrice came up with a hybrid course for me that would allow me to study remotely via a series of lectures recorded live from the bar classes in NY, and also set up two 3-day intensive courses that I would attend live in New York two weeks before sitting for the bar exam to physically prepare me for the time-constraints and environmental pressures of the actual exam. During my remote preparation, I was also able to submit several practice essay exams for feedback, which really allowed me to drastically improve my writing style.
Besides all of the above, what I valued most about the New York Bar Review Program was the mentorship Beatrice provided me with throughout the entire process. Beatrice was always available as a support mechanism, providing me with the confidence and the strength I oftentimes lacked when I became frustrated with my studies. Since I was in California, I was initially very intimidated and felt like an outsider coming in to take a Bar Exam in a state where I knew nothing about the law. Beatrice helped me overcome those barriers and made sure I walked into that exam with the highest level of skills, knowledge and confidence needed to pass.
After passing the New York Bar Exam, Beatrice assisted me in turning my focus to my career search. Beatrice helped me customize my resume to bolster my skills and experience in a way that would fit the New York legal market and prepped me before my interviews. Much sooner than anticipated, especially during an economic downturn, I landed a position with a great firm here in New York and am on the fast track to successfully developing my career.

“I was introduced to Beatrice O’Brien of the New York Bar Review Quality Program through a friend who knew of my plans to move to New York. Upon signing up for the program, I studied for the bar exam while working full time, which at the time overwhelming and extremely challenging. Beatrice provided individual support throughout the process. I found the course to be well organized and it gave me the freedom to work through the materials at my own pace. When it came time to take the exam I knew that I was as prepared as I ever could be. After sitting the exam, Beatrice assisted me in the search for opportunities in the New York legal market. Together we customized by resume and she was a great resource in prepping me for interviews.
It was always my dream to one day work and live in New York and the adventure continues. The process, looking back, was on both a personal and professional level one of the most rewarding experiences of my life to date. This was an adventure that would not have been possible without the New York Bar Review Quality Program and Attorney Placements International.”

“Beatrice O’Brien’s program allowed me to achieve my dream of becoming a New York lawyer. I sat the bar exam in February and, on the basis of the user friendly and comprehensive materials I was provided, passed on my first attempt. I worked full time and studied in the evenings and on weekends which was very manageable.
Beatrice then swung into action securing me a role at a great New York firm. Given that my practice is other than M&A and Banking, I knew it was always going to be a tough ask to land a position also given the current tough market conditions on the employment front. However, Beatrice has a wealth of contacts and before long, I was interviewing for a legal role in the Big Apple! Over many months of intense negotiations on my behalf, Beatrice succeeded in securing me a position at Seyfarth Shaw.
One of Beatrice’s key attributes, which you only appreciate once you have tried to find a job in New York on your own, is her ability to sell the skills of Australian lawyers who are still relatively unknown in many US firms. I am quite sure I would not have succeeded on my own. I am very grateful for Beatrice’s efforts and would recommend her to any Australian who shares my dream of working as a lawyer in NYC.

“While perusing the Lawyers Weekly a few years ago, I stumbled upon an article about the New York Bar Review and realized that obtaining my dream job in New York was actually achievable.
After obtaining some valuable legal experience at Macquarie Bank and Henry Davis York in Australia, I decided that it was time to move to the Big Apple.
I discovered that the program that New York Bar Review offered was tailored to Aussie lawyers and included video lectures presented by a very personable and highly experienced teacher as well as an intensive workshop focusing on the multiple choice aspect of the exam. The multiple choice was definitely the most challenging aspect of the grueling two-day exam and the workshop helped to boost my confidence and provided me with invaluable tips.
All of the New York Bar Review students during the time that I took the exam passed and that in itself speaks volumes, especially considering that the pass rate for foreign lawyers was 36.3%. A couple of weeks after I had submitted my resume to Beatrice, I got an interview with one of the largest international law firms in the world and received an offer after my first interview.
Fortunately, I was also able to have the law firm reimburse me for the costs of the New York Bar Review program.”

Originally from the UK and now a senior associate at Atanaskovic Hartnell in Sydney, specializing in corporate M&A and private equity, is moving to New York later this year to take up a position with Gibbons PC.
As he has previously worked at the London office of a large New York firm and experienced what he describes as the billable hours culture, a draw card of Gibbons PC was its emphasis on maintaining a sensible work-life balance.
With two young children, my desire to bill 100+ hours a week has somewhat diminished, Evans says. Placement by Beatrice O’Brien of Attorney Placements International LLC to Gibbons P.C. www.gibbonslaw.com

“I met Beatrice O’Brien, the President and Founder of the New York Bar Review Quality program, at the information session she gave at the University of New South Wales as part of a series of sessions in 2004. Once I decided to go to New York, I signed up for the program. I studied for the bar exam while in my final semester of University, and as the exam date drew closer, the study became overwhelming with 17 subjects worth of information that needed to be remembered, processed, analyzed and conveyed during the 2 day, 8 hour per day, exam. It became full time work with a 12 hour day divided between listening to lectures and doing practice papers. Ultimately, it was a question of perseverance and during that time any logistical and moral support became essential to reaching the finish line. Beatrice provided individual support throughout the process.
Having sat the bar I began the interview process. In the competitive legal market of New York, where one is up against candidates of the highest caliber, the process is grueling. With a growing reputation, eminent contacts, unremitting dedication and individual and innovative approach, Attorney Placements International made it possible for me. Beatrice seemed to know all the ins and outs of every firm and devoted a tremendous amount of her personal time and effort to make sure I got the placement that I wanted. For me the process was a challenge, both personal and professional, but in the end, within a relatively short time I was placed at an exceptional firm and with the practice group I was most interested in.
The New York Bar Review Quality Program has helped many students, including myself, to broaden their horizons. Personal support, a professional approach, relentless dedication and focus have been key to the 98% passing rate of the New York Bar Review Quality Program’s candidates.
The same outstanding methodology of Attorney Placements International has greatly contributed to the growing esteem and value placed by the New York legal market in Australian lawyers. It is rare that you get to exactly the point you were striving for. The Quality Program and Attorney Placements helped me get there.”

More Testimonials from our Clients
Beatrice also provides a flexible study plan so that you can prepare for the bar exam full-time or part-time for as long as you need before sitting the actual exam.
Furthermore, lecturers are always available to respond to queries about substantive law. Significantly, Beatrice personally answers any questions you have about the process of passing the bar exam and shares her experiences and insights into becoming a lawyer in New York and breaking into the New York legal market. This kind of support is priceless and is simply not replicated in comparable New York bar exam study programs. The New York Bar Review Quality Program is well worth the time, effort and expense and I highly recommend that others participate in this enriching experience.
Thankfully though, with Beatrice O’Brien’s help through the New York Quality Bar Review Program, I was able to achieve this. Beatrice helped me throughout the entire process, from my initial interest in the program, to helping me become familiar with New York legal concepts, to eventually sitting the exam not an easy task for someone who studied law in Australia.
Beatrice’s encouragement throughout the process, even when it seemed impossible, helped me to believe that I could do it. I was even able to find employment despite the tough economic crisis.
Thank you so much Beatrice for all your help, and for making my dream of being admitted to the New York bar come true!
Kind Regards Nadeesha.
